Repeat Prescriptions

We need to see you if you are sick.

This is only for patients enrolled at Amity Health Centre.

Repeat Prescription Policy

Repeat prescriptions -

Covid-19 Update:
  • All prescriptions will be faxed to pharmacy of your choice.
  • No prescriptions picks up from Amity Health Centre until further notice.
  • Prescriptions will be available 48-72 hours once approved by doctor.
  • Please avoid phoning your pharmacy - they are currently overwhelmed with calls.
  • Roslyn Pharmacy do free home deliveries for 70 yrs+ patients. 
  • Please do not attend your pharmacy if you are unwell. 
  • Thank you for your understanding.


Repeat Prescriptions
We believe that we have a duty to review our patient’s medical conditions when repeating medication prescriptions. Under certain circumstances we may be prepared to issue prescriptions for a small number of items without seeing you.

If appropriate, you may request a repeat prescription by one of the methods described below. Your doctor will consider your request and either send a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice, or you will be asked to make an appointment. The usual turnaround time for repeat prescriptions is 24-48 hours, so please make your requests well before you need the medication.

You can request a repeat prescription in the following ways:


1) ManageMyHealth is the preferred and easy way to request a prescription for your regular medications, as well as to book appointments online, and access your personal health information. It is a more accurate and secure method than phoning.

Please note: if your medication does not appear by default in ManageMyHealth, tick any medication and then use the free-text note to state what you really require.

2)
Phone Reception on 03 464 0041 and your request will be forwarded to your doctor or nurse who will contact you. The receptionists will ask for the name of the pharmacy that you wish a prescription to be sent to. Please note that your request may be declined and you may be asked to come in to see your doctor.  We endeavour to have your prescription ready for collection if appropriate within 24-48hours.
Fees for this service:
Repeat prescription to collect from Amity or fax to a Dunedin pharmacy: $15  ($10 for  Community Services Card Holders)

Repeat prescription to fax to a pharmacy out of Dunedin: $20
Repeat prescription required with less than 24 hours notice: $20
The fee will be charged to your account at Amity Health Centre and an invoice/statement will be sent to you at the beginning of the next month if this has not been paid in the meantime. (Statement fees apply for late payments)
