
INTRODUCING our GP Registrar
Dr Argy Song
Argy has his own consulting clinics at Amity, and is available to see patients every day.
Argy was born and raised in Taiwan but moved to Dunedin in 2003 to study at Otago University. He graduated in Medicine in 2010. Since then he has worked across a variety of specialities particularly working with children. He has gained postgraduate qualifications in Paediatrics and Women’s Health.
Argy is married to Taffy, who has started up a property management company called “Happy Nest”. They have 4 children - Hebe, Bobby, Ollie, and Heidi. Argy has also developed a business called Project First Management Company.
Argy has now decided that he would like to follow a career in General Practice to balance his medical, business and family life. He speaks fluent Mandarin and has worked as a trained interpreter for Dunedin Hospital.
His interests outside work include Chinese Martial Arts, “Go” game, sports and family time listening to music, movies and gardening
The GP registrar programme:
This practice has been accredited by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners as a teaching practice for general practice registrars. GP registrars are doctors who have already completed at least eight years of medical training and are going on to specialise in general practice. They come to this practice for a six-month period to get practical experience under the supervision of Drs Susie Lawless and Prue Murdoch
Patients may be offered an appointment with the registrar. If you decide to consult with the registrar you are making an important contribution
to the education of New Zealand doctors and we appreciate your support. However, the choice to see the registrar is entirely voluntary and you are always free to see your own doctor if you prefer.
